Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the development of farmer groups in the last 3 (three) years, explain the characteristics of farmers in farmer groups (age, education level, membership period and land area) and farmer group members' assessment of the role of farmer group administrators in group meetings in Sekar Village Mengkuang Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang District of Bungo District.

The study was conducted using a descriptive approach that is to provide an overview in accordance with the phenomena that were obtained relating to the evaluation of members of farmer groups to administrators in conducting farmer group meetings. The method of determining respondents was done by purposive sampling. Samples were taken from 18 farmer groups which were then taken 25% based on the criteria of the farmer group which had the most number of members so that there were 5 farmer groups as the population. From selected farmer groups, 25% of their members were taken as samples so that the sample in this study was 56 samples. Analysis of the data used in this study is used descriptive analysis that relates to the role of the board in carrying out deliberations using the Likert scale.

The results showed that the farmer groups in Sekar Mengkuang Village in the last 3 (three) years were the number of members and farmers' income only increased in 2016 and decreased in 2017 but were higher than in 2015. The productive age of farmer groups in Sekar Mengkuang village continued increase. The age characteristics of farmers in farmer groups are of productive age, but education is still low, namely elementary and junior high schools, while the membership period of the applicable farmer groups is a lifetime member, and the farmer's land area in Sekar Mengkuang Village Limbur Lubuk Mengkuang District, Bungo Regency is the same, namely 2 Ha. And the evaluation of farmer group members on the role of farmer group administrators in group meetings in Sekar Mengkuang Village Limbur Sub-District Lubuk Mengkuang, Bungo Regency is a high-tech bar.
